Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester, is the reason the Met Steps became a landmark for a generation of viewers. Her New York is compact, expensive and almost entirely walkable — the ideal Gossip Girl day.

The Waldorf apartment

Blair's home is set at 1136 Fifth Avenue, on the Upper East Side facing Central Park. It is a private residence, so the photograph is taken from the sidewalk, but the building is exactly the address the show gives it.

The Met Steps

Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street, a short walk from the apartment. This is Blair's court: the yogurt, the headbands, the hierarchy. Free to visit and the first stop most fans ask for.

Constance Billard

Her school exterior is the Museum of the City of New York at Fifth Avenue and 103rd Street — the steps where Blair's social order was enforced between classes.

The Empire Hotel

Blair's story with Chuck runs through the Empire Hotel at 44 West 63rd Street, beside Lincoln Center, in the later seasons — Chuck Bass's own locations pick up where hers leave off.

Central Park

The park sits directly across Fifth Avenue from the Waldorf building, and Bethesda Terrace and the Conservatory Water both feature in her storylines.

Why Blair defines the show

Blair is the character who takes the world of the series most seriously, and the writing rewards her for it: ambition, humiliation and recovery, in a loop, in the same six blocks. That density is what makes her locations so easy to visit in one afternoon.
